We believe that language is a form of medical technology.
There are illnesses that could have been cured—
if only the right drug had been approved in time.
There are lives that could have been saved—
if only the right treatment had been more widely known.
Words have the power to protect lives.
ASCA Corporation (ASCA) was founded in 1995, at a time when many diseases still lacked effective treatments. From the beginning, we have specialized in medical translation and scientific writing to support the advancement of healthcare.
Back then, only about 500 pharmaceutical products were approved in Japan. Today, that number has grown tenfold to around 5,000. The average drug development timeline has also shortened from 15 years to under 10.
Thanks to advances in IT, gene therapy, biotechnology, and AI-driven technologies such as machine learning, drug discovery is progressing at an unprecedented pace. Behind this progress lies global collaboration among research institutions and pharmaceutical companies—and ASCA’s language services play a vital role in that ecosystem.
Our strength lies in the expertise of our medical language professionals, combined with the power of technology.
Bridging Japan’s medical advancements to the world,
and bringing global medical knowledge to Japan—this is the mission we pursue at ASCA.
We believe that words can save lives.
With that belief, we continue to move forward—today and every day.
